Hey Heeler, Marina Simone here!
I teach busy moms how to Slay Online Sales by leveraging their personal brands on social media. My ultimate goal is to get these moms from the cubicle to a throne by identifying their business brand, mission, and impact they want to make.
In this episode, I get the opportunity to be interviewed by a total STUD, John Melton. He has inspired my throughout my journey in this business and I’m so excited to chat with him today. 🙌
He’s been someone I’ve looked up to when it comes to business branding and the Network Marketing business. I’m so grateful to have this human in my life.

I’ll start with a little background info on me. I was introduced 8 years ago to the Network Marketing business because a good friend of mine saw an opportunity with me.
I was working in a cubicle for a boss who did not appreciate me. What made it worse was the fact that I was missing my daughter’s milestones: mainly, her first steps.
Last month it came full circle because I was able to watch my 8 month old start to take her first steps. We were able to get it on video too!
So it’s safe to say this business has not only brought me financial freedom, but freedom to be present in my kid’s lives.
I initially got involved in the Network Marketing business because I just wanted to make an extra $500 a month so I could rid myself of any and all overtime I was working. Then it turned into so much more than that for me.
I’m living in my dream home, I’m happy, and I’m soaking up all the time I can with my girls.
In 2014, I started dabbling in business branding. I realized I wanted to build solely on social media📲. This was when a shift happened for me and I really started showing up in the Network Marketing world.
I LOVEE high heels, (you'll often find me in them). So, I took something I loved and incorporated that into my personal brand. This was where the birth of Moms and Heels began. I help entrepreneurs with business branding and offer coaching to help them slay online sales by leveraging social media. My ultimate goal is to get as many moms as possible from the #cubicle2throne 👑.
If you're one of those people who use Instagram™ for business but don’t feel like they’re using it to its fullest capacity, I have a couple pieces of advice especially for YOU.
First, there needs to be a paradigm shift.
I've noticed that when there is new social media platform out, people tend to think they should to forget about the others and start all over. This is definitely not the case babe! Find ways to MASTER all of them.
Another misconception, is when users think they need to be a social media influencer in order to be successful. 🙅♀️ These two thought processes are paralyzing people when it comes to growing and building a social media following on a platform like Instagram™.
People ARE looking 👀 for you. They just don’t know it yet.
They can’t find you because you’re not raising your hand. Get out there and tell your story, because trust me, there are tons of people out there who relate to your message. Users who connect with your story will WANT to reach out to you. That's your time to shine! 🌟 Please get it out of your head that you have to be perfect to have success on Instagram. I've actually found that I get the best responses when I'm being raw and real with my audience. We have great days and…not so great days. So let it all show – I can guarantee you, every human has been there.

Most of the time, we feel we have to create new content constantly; NOT TRUE. Let me share a little tip with you, everyone repurposes their content!!
Here's an example, let’s say you make a fun little video on TikTok™.
You could then go ahead and post that video to your Instagram™ story. This gives people a little preview of the fun, silly, (& real) version of you. This can also be shared to your Facebook™ Story at the same time, which means your hitting 3 platforms at the same time. Yass, please 💁♀️
If you do a Facebook™ Live stream, you can re-purpose that also. I usually do a quick edit limiting it down to about 2-5 minutes of video, highlighting the tips I discussed in the Live stream. Yes, it's a condensed version, but I'm making sure to maintain value for my audience.
You could even screen shot it and then mention it in your story. Throw some arrows in there or insert a call to action so your audience knows to 👉🏻GO HERE👈🏻(or wherever you are trying to drive traffic).
It's also a great idea to post a link in your bio driving people back to your Facebook™ business page.
Repurposing content is key and the sky is the limit when it comes to the different ways you can do it.
If I go live on Instagram, I don’t always make it a big professional thing. I show up as MYSELF (whatever that may be that day 😅). Sometimes, I don’t even wear make up but that's OK! At the end of the day, you need to make sure your target audience sees you as being your genuine self.
One of my goals on Instagram™ is to show all the mamas out there that they CAN show up as themselves, and that’s they are enough! This is what works and this is what draws people to you.
Going live on Instagram™ isn’t complicated. Show up once a week and shoot the ish' with your peeps. They'll appreciate you being consistent and showing up for them.
Figure out what your thing is and be consistent.
Instagram™ Live is tied to Instagram™ stories for a reason. It could be you giving glimpses into your day – something as as simple as that!
DON'T overwhelm your audience with the same stuff in your feed over and over again. For example, if you do a podcast don’t make every single post about the next podcast. You have to find that balance between pushing your product/service and providing valuable, engaging content.
You don’t want to flood your audience’s feed with the same words and verbiage because chances are they will unfollow you.
Don’t use the same hashtags over and over because Instagram™ can shadow ban you. Anything that even resembles spamming can get you into trouble.
I would suggest leaving the hashtags solely in your comments section because they can ugly up your post with overcrowding. Be sure the hashtags relate to your post!!
The magic of hashtags is your ability to connect with people who are ALREADY interested in these topics/ideas. If your content is related, they're likely to check you out or like your post. Ultimately resulting in potential leads 😁
OK – Let's recap. These are the 3 strategies you can focus on right now:
Strategy 1:
Learn how to repurpose your content. The trick is driving people from one of your platforms to the next.
If you created content that did well on Facebook™ for example, repurpose it and use it on Instagram. Whether you turn it into a story, a Live, a post, or an IGTV™ is completely up to you.
Strategy 2:
Your content needed to represent your authentic self. For example, it could be something special you do with your audience once a week. Consistently look for ways you can bring awareness to your mission, educate on what your passionate about, and convert other humans like you.
Strategy 3:
Hashtags can be super helpful for connecting to people like you, or within your niche. People searching hashtags on Instagram™ is as common as people searching on Google™. Take advantage of this!
Search and follow a hashtag on Instagram™ that has to do with what you do. After that, start engaging and commenting. This allows you to start forming relationships with other people like you.
You have a voice and you have an impact. People are looking for you and they want to hear what you have to say. Have some fun with it! I promise you that if you play with it, you'll quickly learn what works and what doesn’t.
Social media experts are saying that IGTV is going to become bigger than YouTube™. Let that sink in for a minute. 👀
This is something that you could get in front of and leverage right now! So get out there, start sharing, and connect with other humans like you.
Until next time Heeler!
Xoxo,
Marina Simone
