We're in a scary time – the unknown, BUT we are also in an amazing, amazing industry. An industry that allows people to buy their groceries even in this uncertain time. And that's because of direct sales + network marketing. In case you need a reminder, we have a beautiful opportunity directly in front of us.
Yes, times are a little bit crazy with everything that's been going on (we're obviously talking about the elephant in the room 😷).
I want you to know that in the next 6 months, people are going to be searching high and low for any opportunity they can get their hands on. And over the next 2 years, those that took these tips seriously for their businesses will reap the fruits of their labor.
Before we start, I want to express how honored and excited I am to be here with you. Not only am I able to train how to generate leads from Instagram, but also what I've done and what I've taught others to do. My goal today is to give you the 411 on why Instagram is a great place to be focusing on, especially for what you guys have got going on.

I'm a mom of 2. I have a 9-year-old…wait, she just turned 10, hello. 😭 and I also have a 1-year-old. I always say God has a sense of humor because there's almost a decade in between them, and having a baby at 25 and 35 was completely different. Can any mommas relate? LOL.
I'll keep it 💯 with you, okay? Postpartum is no joke – having a dependent toddler and then a 10-year-old who just gets it is ‘interesting” to say the least.
When I first got started in network marketing, my now 10-year old was only a year old.
I actually missed her first steps right before her first birthday because I was stuck and chained ⛓ to a cubicle. At that moment, I felt like I was the worst mom on the planet. What else was I going to miss in her life? I can literally remember just sitting in my cubicle, getting the text from her daycare saying “Hey, just wanted to let you know, Anaiyah just took her first steps”.
I cried the whole way to pick her up because I just kept thinking about all of these other things I was going to miss in her life and it just made sick to my stomach.💔
I had 3 computers at my desk because of how much my boss overworked me, only to get paid pennies, literally.
Full circle moment, 💫 my now 1-year old (almost 16 months), took her first steps when she was 10 months old. And I didn't miss a second of it. In fact, I was here in my home, on the floor with her the whole time. Even though I'll never forget it, the funny thing is, my 10-year-old doesn't even remember me having a job, or remember me missing anything.
You should know that if there's ever a moment where you're like, “I'm missing these things,” then I can promise you, you've chosen the right industry to never miss another moment with your families ever again.
I am proof of that. But let me just tell you, I'm not this ‘special human' with all these ‘special gifts' and whatnot…I mean, okay, I am a special human and I know I have gifts, BUT I failed for 2-years. In no way was I an overnight success. Again, I didn't make money for 2 whole years in this industry.
I fell flat on my face until I started utilizing social media and Instagram.
Only after I started using Instagram and Facebook did I become a multiple 6-figure earner in the industry. I just want you to know that YOU can do the same. 🏆
Well, Heeler, the answer is simple: Why not?
I like to look for ways where I can generate leads from social media platforms and then put them through a system that duplicates the results. I look at Instagram and statistics because I think it's so important for you to have a deeper understanding, especially with available tutorials and the incredible products that you guys have. 🙌
Instagram is kind of a no brainer, (in my opinion) for you guys because of some of its amazing features like IGTV, quick 60-second tutorials, time-lapse videos, Instagram stories, and really just being able to connect with the moms in your tribe. I can't stress enough how powerful Instagram can be for you.
For instance, let's say I was a part of your company. One of the things I'd be doing every single day would be showcasing customers of mine and what they've made and how they've had success with it. Once a week, I would create an IG live video of me actually doing that exact thing because it's DIY, which people love!
Even if you have a very user-friendly product, it's still a great idea to ease that do-it-yourself mentality of “Oh, I can't do that, I'm not one of those Pinterest moms.” All you need to do is remove that fear or hesitation from the equation and show them how easy and simple it can be. 👌
Quick tip: When you do a live video on Instagram, you can now post it to IGTV. The cool part is that, once it's on IGTV, it's now stored there. You can then go and share it with others, or tag people in that video whenever they ask you questions related to your biz, or about your products. That's one way to get leads interested, don't you agree?
Going back to the “Why Instagram” question: Did you know that right now, the number of new Instagram users is BOOMING 💥 at an insane rate?
My mom is on Instagram +TikTok. She's 60. Why? She has no idea, but she's bored at home. Hellooo, 🗣 people are bored at home, right? 1 billion humans are on Instagram. Of those 1 billion people, the average age is from 18 to 49 years old, and it's about split in half a little bit more females than males.
But when you look at the age range of 18 to 49, that's your target audience. In the case of Network Marketing, I would say your target audience will probably be anywhere from 25 to about 45, 50 years old.
At this very moment, people are at home looking for ways to redo their homes or make things look better. I mean, that's what I'm doing here, right? Wondering how you can tap into that? Well, you now have that age range to work with.
People are on the Instagram app for almost 30 minutes a day. That means you have eyeballs for over 28 minutes a day and check this out, 63% of the humans are logging on at least once a day. All these statistics are HUGE. 💸
Plus, Instagram is the second most downloaded app in the Apple Store.
Think of it like, OK, you've got 500 million people watching the Instagram stories online, a billion people on the app, new users downloading it every single day, and It's the second most downloaded app. Why wouldn't you look for ways to generate leads on it? Hellllerrrr…remember what I said about being a no-brainer? 🤔
By the way, 62% of those people actually buy from brands.
YOU ARE A BRAND.
62% of people say that they actually buy from brands that they see active in the Instagram stories. You can utilize your Instagram stories and put them on Facebook as well, so you're now targeting both platforms.
And If you are building through a business page or have a business page, you can also connect your Instagram stories to your Facebook business page as well, so it's kind of like a one-stop-shop, right?
Now, let's talk about 5- ways to capture leads.
Do me a favor and look at your Instagram Bio, (this will help you understand why this happens because maybe you have done this before).
If you're watching Instagram stories and someone mentions somebody else in the Instagram story, you probably end up clicking on that person, right? And when you click on that person, then it ends up taking you to their profile and suggests other accounts.
And before you know it, you're over here again and then you're over there…and so on. Basically, right, it's like Kevin Bacon where everybody's connected from 6 degrees. 🤯
You can end up on my Instagram account from someone 6 degrees separated over there, right? So, what does that mean? It means if people are clicking around, you want to find ways to get them to stop. ✋
If they click on your bio, find ways to capture them, especially if you don't have an Instagram business account, are not using ads, not retargeting, or you're not tracking with pixels. (I may have confused some of you, but you don't need to do any of those things if you don't want to.)

#1. Your Link In Your Bio Should Be a Link Tree or a Smart Bio
Having users click on either of those links will help to capture their information. This is so helpful because if you're not tracking your leads, you need to be finding ways to organically collect these leads or get them to engage with you.
How do you do that? You can use it with type form which is actually my favorite. You can create a quiz and then have them leave their email and phone number so you can then reach out to them. There are so many ways you could utilize your link in your bio. Try sending them to a tutorial, or maybe you're driving from your stories to the link in your bio because you have something in there you want to sell.
You want people to want to click 🖱 on the value you're offering and look for creative ways to capture them.
#2. Drive People to That Link in Your Bio Twice a week.
Use Instagram language: 👉 link in bio. We do it in our stories. We do it in our actual posts as well, because that's the way people do things on Instagram. If they like what you wrote in the caption, they like what you're offering, or they want more information, they will go to the link in your bio.
I'm guilty of doing this myself, clicking here, downloading this, visiting there, and etc. That's how I know how this is effective.
You never know – your next rock star or your next customer could be clicking around in your profile, but they're not ready to actually reach out to you yet because maybe they're nervous or maybe they're an introvert like me, and don't like to reach out to people. Personally, I'd much rather enter my email or enter my phone number.
#3. Include a Call to Action in Your Instagram Stories.
If you're doing Instagram stories and Facebook stories and you never have a call to action for them to DM you, or you never say “go to the link in my bio for more info”, people are going to watch and they're going to do nothing. And if people do nothing, it's because you didn't guide them or direct them to do anything.
I know you're like, “Wait, really?” Yes, really. You need to drive people and tell them what to do. People need to be told what to do. 👩🏫
If they don't know what to do, they do nothing at all.
And when people are confused, they do nothing at all. And trust me, if that happens, they will just scroll right past you. We don't want them to scroll past you. We want them to want to engage with you. 📍 And it doesn't have to be every story you do, but I like to do it 2-3 times a week.
#4. Create Engagement With Your Instagram Stories.
If you're wondering what do I mean by that, I mean, you can use polls, the question sticker, the quiz box, and now you even add a DM sticker. The goal is to get people engaging with you! Create conversations by asking for responses and feedback.
Now would it be awesome to gain people through a post that says, “I want to buy your product”? Absolutely! However, sometimes people need 5 to 20 touches. This means they need to see things 5 to 20 times on social media before they actually want to buy something.
Even I have to prompt them a couple of times. I have to engage with them too. Do you know that I sold, literally, over $1,200 worth of my products yesterday from an Instagram story? But guess what? It took time. I've been engaging with them for the past two weeks,
…This leads me to our last lead generating strategy.
#5. The 333 Method.
Let me break this down for you.
If you're on Instagram and someone likes your posts, this means you need to go back and you need to go like 3 of theirs. If someone comments on your posts, you need to go and comment on 3 of theirs. If they reply to your story, you need to go and reply to 3 of theirs. You need to do this for 3-days in a row. 📅
In the 3rd day, you're then going to rip the bandaid off *deep breaths* and ask if they're open to taking a look at your business or your product, or whatever you want to lead with.
Whatever your process may be, I'm sure it's amazing. My conversations look something like this: (a more forward approach):
“Lisa, girl, I've been stalking you. You are incredible! I would love to work with you. I would kick myself if I didn't ask you right now. We're helping girls make an extra $500 a month with this incredible _____ product. Have you ever heard of it?”
Lisa: “No. What is it?”
Me: “Well, if you're open, I would love to give you some information. Are you open to taking a look? If not, no worries.”
It's that simple. This is how I generate leads. Now, guess what? Just because someone said no, doesn't mean I'm done with them yet. Nope! They're still on my lead list.
What I really want to drive home is the idea that generating leads doesn't have to be this crazy, scary thing. You can connect with people just like you, and implement these 5 simple strategies into your every single day routine.
